Temecula reels in the new year with 3rd annual Grape Drop Countdown
January 6th 2012

The grapes descend as the 9 p.m. countdown takes place at the New Year’s Eve Grape Drop Countdown in Temecula.	Swing dancers perform to the jazz sounds performed by the Valley Winds Big Band at Temecula’s New Year’s Eve Grape Drop Countdown, Saturday, Dec. 30, 2011.	Spectators gather to watch the Valley Winds Big Band perform at the New Year’s Eve Grape Drop Countdown celebration.	The Silver Beatles covered famous Beatles’ tracks that had audience members singing along to the classic tunes.
The grapes, designed by Melody Brunsting, descended from the Civic Center clock tower during two countdowns at the New Year’s Eve Grape Drop Countdown in Temecula.	Safety Orange performed in front of the Civic Center and through the midnight countdown, covering music genres from reggae to ska.

Performance artist Gregory Adamson standing in front of his painting of John Lennon that was auctioned off for $1200 by the Temecula Theater Foundation to help purchase a sculpture of recently passed theater manager Bruce A Beers. The painting was completed in roughly 11 minutes.
