A 33-year-old man was shot to death after allegedly breaking into a Moreno Valley home recently, authorities said Thursday, July 7.Joseph Ortega of Moreno Valley was found with a gunshot wound when deputies responded to a call about a burglary in progress, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. It occurred about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, in the 24000 block of Eucalyptus Avenue, near Heacock Street.Ortega was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in serious condition. He was pronounced dead Thursday.The resident, 93-year-old Joe Howard Teague, told deputies that he had several suspects at gunpoint.
