Members and Auxiliary members of Anza Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1873 enjoy barbecue chicken and baby back ribs at the Saturday, May 5, post fundraiser. The funds raised will be used to purchase much needed new bar stools with backs.

VFW members Ron Anderson and Vicky Meier worked to barbecue the ribs and chicken to perfection, while members anticipating a good meal watched the Kentucky Derby unfold on the TV in the bar.

Anderson said the post was particularly pleased because an anonymous donor provided all the meat for the fundraiser. All the proceeds for the special meal will be used to purchase the new barstools and other items needed by the post.

The $6.50 special meal included a choice of baby back ribs, barbecued chicken or hamburger served with tender corn on the cob, macaroni or green salad and coffee.

VFW Post 1873 at 59011 Bailey Road in Anza offers meals throughout the week to members and the public prepared and served by the Post 1873 Ladies' and Men's Auxiliary. The weekly menus and post news may be found in the weekly Anza Valley Outlook and online at http://www.myvalleynews.com and clicking on "Anza."
