Poet, artist Nicolai to appear at Lake Elsinore Historical Museum

Last updated 7/11/2018 at 4:15am

Poet and artist Nicolai is promising a jolly good evening with a bit of “tea and crumpets,” painting displays and delightful readings for visitors, 6 p.m., Saturday, July 14, of the Lake Elsinore Historical Museum.

Nicolai, who is described at a “poet who paints work pictures being satirical at times, yet very accommodating,” will be meeting his guests in the museum, 183 N. Main St., in Lake Elsinore.

If tea and crumpets are not a favorite, there will be coffee and cookies as well. Admission is $10, and the proceeds will go to the Lake Elsinore Historical Society.

Nicolai’s poetry is distilled from over 50 years of his observational notes, and most of the content originates from personal experience.

The process he uses to create visual representations on canvas is similar to how he uses metaphors and descriptive words to paint a corresponding picture in the reader’s mind.

Three of Nicolai’s books will be available for purchase, and a selection of his paintings will be on display.
