Additional efforts were made to contact the unresponsive candidate. All candidates were asked their name, age, how long they have been a resident of Wildomar, their occupation and how voters can learn more about them. In addition, they were given the opportunity to describe their core positions.
Sheryl L. Ade Age: 52 Length of residence: 20 years Occupation: Full-time community volunteer E-mail: vxd120@hotmail.com Statement: I believe Wildomar residents are best-suited to make decisions affecting their destiny. I’ve volunteered for Wildomar since 2003, spending thousands of hours talking to people in the community about their concerns, priorities and dreams. People said they wanted balanced, quality development/amenities that respect the size and character of the community while preserving the lifestyle and unique attributes that brought them here. I self-educated in order to be an effective advocate/lobbyist. Over the last five years, I earned the respect of citizens and officials and have been successful in the goals/objectives I set out to accomplish. I wish to continue serving Wildomar.
Gary A. Andre Age: 52 Length of residence: 19 years Occupation: Building inspector, certified CAD designer; at the current time I’m disabled (torn nerve roots C5-T1) Phone: (951) 609-3737 E-mail: garyandre@verizon.net Statement: It is the dedication of the people of Wildomar. They don’t give up. If elected, We the people of Wildomar will build our city together, not just the council. This will be done through a visioning process. The visioning process is where the people tell the council what developments they would like to have come to our community. Sit-down restaurants, equestrian center, community center for the kids – these are just a few of your ideas. What’s your idea for Wildomar? I would like to know! Please e-mail me. Scott A. Farnam Age: 41 Length of residence: 15 years Occupation: Real estate broker/commercial developer Phone: (951) 265-8043 E-mail: jackhamr36@msn.com Web page: www.wildomarvoice. com/bViewTopic.asp?bCat=2& Id=83 Statement: I’m against raising taxes. I’m for family and community cohesiveness. I’m for preserving our rural roots. I’m for improving emergency services. I’m for improving infrastructure. I’m for amenities, parks and trails. I’m for the city of Wildomar to become a thriving, financially viable rural community, by laying the proper foundation in the beginning. Growth and development will come. The new city of Wildomar will need my experience in development and land planning, someone who speaks the same language as developers but understands the community’s desire and blueprint for the future. This is not high school, and this is not a popularity contest. This is a business.
Paul Williams Age: 73 Length of residence: 5 years Occupation: Retired E-mail: karakiz1940@yahoo.com Statement: What inspired me to run for city council was to ensure that everyone in Wildomar received a fair shake. Meaning, when I moved to Wildomar a selling point for me was that of a regional park which would have been located at the end of Elizabeth/Clinton Keith, which has yet to come to fruition. My wife and I moved to Wildomar only to assist my daughter while my son-in-law was deployed to Iraq and that was five years ago, still no park. Please know, I’m not against Wildomar becoming a city, but I do not feel the time is now.
Marsha Swanson Age: 61 Length of residence: 34 years Occupation: Businesswoman (branch manager, Coldwell Banker, Wildomar) Phone: (951) 313-7472 E-mail: marsha.swanson@ camoves.com Statement: As the saying goes, "If you want something done, get involved," so I did. The first Council will either make or break the City of Wildomar. I want to see Wildomar become a strong successful City, one we can all be proud of. Wildomar is a community on the move; we need to plan carefully, look at traffic, police, fire and a balanced budget. Given the opportunity, I will put my experience, my ethics and knowledge together to help create a city that will make it. Dollars need to flow into the city, not out.
Harv Dykstra Age: 56 Length of residence: 26 years Occupation: Building materials dealer and contractor Phone: (951) 265-4220 E-mail: doctord@mail.com Statement: Annexation attempts by Murrieta and Elsinore inspired me to run for City Council. We have no protection other than incorporation, which protects our sovereignty and stops the land-grabbers. Also, we can do a better job providing services than the county has. We are overdue for a fire station on the east side of I-15. Our Sheriff’s deputies spend too much of their time being pulled out of Wildomar during emergencies in other communities. Our roads are unsafe and inadequate. With the existing tax dollars generated Advertisement
Bridgette Moore Age: 40 Length of residence: 9 years Occupation: Executive assistant Phone: (951) 440-6796 E-mail: bridgette@mopartscorp.com Statement: I am running for Wildomar City Council because I have a passion to see Wildomar become the best city it can be. I have volunteered on the Wildomar Incorporation Now (WIN) committee for the past five years and I am a proven leader. Wildomar residents will benefit from Cityhood by obtaining local control and improved emergency services without paying any additional taxes. Please vote ‘yes’ on Measure C! Please vote ‘at large’ on Measure D and please vote for Bridgette Moore for City Council. Together, we can make Wildomar an even better place to live!
Bob Cashman Age: 65 Length of residence: 29 years Occupation: Engineer Phone: (951) 514-0822 E-mail: cashman@linkline.com Web page: www.bobcashman.info Statement: The Wildomar we know and love will continue to exist only if we gain control of its future by becoming a city. I have been an organizer and leader in Wildomar not only in the cityhood effort but also over the last 29 years in education, business interests, libraries, etc. I am exited about being on the city council and using the knowledge I have gained to create a community without parallel. Let’s add opportunities for local employment and businesses while actively preserving the small town feeling, natural beauty and open vistas of the area.
Martha L. Bridges Age: 64 Length of residence: 20 years Occupation: Retired businesswoman E-mail: martha.bridges@att.net Statement: I agree in principle with cityhood, but it’s premature for Wildomar to incorporate now. The current proposal is seriously flawed and financially risky. If voters do choose cityhood, it will be crucial to have competent business professionals such as myself on the council to manage financial challenges and bring real financial prudence to every aspect of the city’s development. Wildomar’s residents can’t afford "Tax and Spend" candidates who will ask for tax increases to support their grand schemes for runaway development. I am deeply committed to limiting tax increases and building an open, accountable government for all of Wildomar’s people.
Tim Underdown Age: 47 Length of residence: 18 years Occupation: Equipment mechanic Phone: (909) 518-2731 E-mail: wildomar4me@earthlink.net Statement: My passion for Wildomar and the need for local control over the future of Wildomar is why I am running for city council. Although I feel the county does a fair job, I believe a locally controlled city council will have a better idea of what the needs of Wildomar are as far as emergency services, growth, development, roads, traffic, etc. Having served on the incorporation committee and been involved firsthand with the studies to incorporate, I very much want to continue my passion and help the residents make Wildomar the best place to live in the southwest county.
Roger Dale LeClerc Age: 61 Length of residence: 6 years Occupation: Structural steel contractor Phone: (951) 471-0397 Statement: The key issue facing Wildomar is cityhood. If measure "C" fails, I’ll support a petition for cityhood straight away. It will take three to five years to get back on the ballot. That is just about the right amount breathing room in these tough times. Best part: you, the reader, will be ready to join a new crop of candidates. Think a little selfish. Thanks, everyone.
Darrell Ruff Age: 70 Length of residence: 18 years Occupation: Retired Phone: (951) 678-9722 E-mail: ruffhaus2@yahoo.com Statement: As a retired aerospace supervisor, I moved to Wildomar 18 years ago and wanted to give back to my community. Therefore, I have participated in many community organizations and projects. I know that there are many issues that face a newly formed city. From my experience, the three top issues are taxes, growth and levels of service. I don’t advocate any new taxes and feel that good planning will address growth issues. I will actively support proper levels of service be provided such as police, fire and ambulance. Now is my time to serve a greater need for our community.
Steve Beutz Age: 45 Length of residence: 14 years Occupation: Other Statement: Bob Buster is the puppet master behind the drive for Wildomar incorporation. When it became apparent that cityhood would have otherwise been infeasible, Buster was quick to resuscitate it with creative cost-sharing schemes for new fire stations and promises of millions in County funds to keep it afloat. He’s desperately trying to dump Wildomar off the County books because it costs so much more to service than it returns in tax revenues. Residents would be forced to choose between either a reduction in services or a heavier tax burden. Don’t be hornswaggled by Buster and accomplices. Reject Measure "C."

It's good to see a healthy opposition to Measure C. It's shows that people truly DO care about their community, instead of polluting it with divisive politics (which is sure to happen if Measure C passes) and robbing their neighbors to fund whatever grand scheme is dreamt up by special interests. |
