Dudette Ranch trail rides wander through a nearby nature preserve.

Story Last Updated : Jul 27th.

The Dudette Ranch is a place for those who have dreamed of owning their own horse.

It gives them an authentic chance to escape reality, if only for a while.

The Dudette Ranch conception bends the well-known "Dude Ranch" retreat into something a little different.

One doesn’t have to travel out of town or have her own horse to enjoy all the relaxation and exercise benefits of life on a ranch.

The Dudette Ranch will hold an open house on March 22 at 36500 Los Alamos Road in Murrieta, 1.8 miles east of Interstate 215, from 12 to 4 p.m.

"Where your workout partner is a horse" is their statement of belief, a place for women who have Advertisement

always wanted a horse to gain confidence and get fit while riding these very physical animals.

This isn’t like the movie "City Slickers," where they are budging cattle across open range, eating from iron pots on a makeshift fire in the dirt or slumbering under twinkles in the night.

But this is a real working horse ranch and a membership gives one unlimited access just like she’d own her own horse.

The Dudette Ranch has a Lifestyle Fitness program, which is a monthly membership program that includes unlimited visits, beginning through advanced, pleasure riding and show training and horses are available for lease.

Visit www.DudetteRanch.com or call (951) 440-3536 for additional information.

I read your story and came to your facilities and really didnt like it. the horses were all very skinny and all had a dull coat. there feet were long and cracked and there manes where not brushed. you know i am a cityslicker and i even know when i see a horse that is ribbie or the spin is showing that it cant be healthy. not real impressed with the amount of money that you are asking for these horses or even this membership.i can adopt one from animal control for 150.00 and know that its as its shots, wormings and his feet done.i believe you are just in it for the money and yourself and not the horses!!!!! what a joke this is and to say your a christian..oh please he is always looking down on you and you should ask your self would he be proud of you right now!!!!

Dear Jane Doe,
Your nasty comment here was just pointed out to me. I know who you are; obviously you know what you are saying is untrue or you would have used you own name. You were causing Dancer to get sick feeding her all that watermelon and stuff and we asked you to stop doing that. Sorry to have hurt your feelings but I can not let an ignorant Cityslicker hurt my horses. Non the less, anyone who comes to visit will find that the horses here are all well cared for and of good weight. Anyone who thinks there is money to be made rescuing horses needs their head examined.

I have to wholeheartedly disagree with Jane Doe's comments regarding Dudette Ranch. My 10-year-old daughter has recently begun working with Pattie and the horses at the Ranch and so our family visits frequently. We have always found every animal (from the horses to the pigs and goats) to be extremely well-cared for and even more loved. Pattie cares deeply for each animal and provides for them to the very best of her ability. I think Miss Doe also needs to remember that Dudette Ranch takes IN these animals when NO ONE else wants them, and offers to give them a forever home. Each animal has an unbelievable story that has come with them and Pattie would be happy to share those with you, if you'd only listen. She truly has a huge heart for these abandoned animals. I am proud that my daughter is learning about caring for animals from her!
