On Aug. 23 Falkner Winery will host a New Release Wine Dinner at their Pinnacle Restaurant.

The dinner will be a multi-course gourmet meal with individual wine pairings of the Falkners’ soon-to-be-released wines.

All meals will be prepared under the direction of Pinnacle Restaurant Executive Chef Dennis van Rumund.

Menu items include assorted appetizers such as Chinese Five-Spice Duck in Steamed Dim Sum, Cuban Roasted Pork with a Sugar Cane Skewer and Russian Sirloin Beef and Forest Mushroom Piroshki; a salad of Chopped Hearts of Romaine with a Lobster Asian Vegetable Wonton; a seafood course of Seared Deep Sea Scallops with Confit of Artichoke Heart; an entrée of Venison Loin in a Wild Mushroom and Meritage Wine Jus with Blackberry Essence; and dessert of French Vanilla Crème Brûlée with Wild Berries.

Some of the wines will include their 2005 "Super Tuscan" Amante, the 2007 Sauvignon Blanc, the 2007 Chardonnay, the 2005 Syrah and the Advertisement

2005 Meritage.

The evening begins with wine tasting at 6 p.m. with the price set at $99 per person plus tax and gratuity. All new release wines that are tasted will be available for sale to guests.

Special pricing for wine club members and guests will be $89 for regular club members and $84 for VIP members. Seating will be limited.

Seating will be indoors in the panoramic, hilltop Pinnacle dining room, where lunches and wedding receptions are also held. Appetizers will be served downstairs in the "wine cave" area.

The Falkners and winemaker Steve Hagata will be present to discuss each wine and answer questions.

This event is a rare opportunity to have a fun-filled wine dinner in one of the most exclusive new dining establishments in Temecula Wine Country.

Falkner Winery is located five miles east of I-15 off the Rancho California Rd. exit, then left on Calle Contento.

For reservations, call (951) 676-8231, ext. 104, or visit www.falknerwinery.com.
