Students will be soon able to learn the art of making wine in classes offered by Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC). Offered will be "Introduction to Enology" and "Introduction to Viticulture."

The three units for each class will be transferable to Cal State Fresno, which offers a bachelor’s degree in viticulture and enology. The classes will be lecture-based and offer hands-on experience during field trips to area wineries.

"Introduction to Viticulture" will be taught in the spring semester, which starts in January. Students will learn about caring for vineyards, how vines are trained on the wire, pest control and more.

Both classes are 16 weeks and will be held at the Temecula Education Complex at 27447 Enterprise Circle West. For more information, call (951) 639-5740.

Is there going to be another "Introduction to Enology" class in the spring? or January?

Does it matter which class I take first, Enology or "Intro. to Viticulture"?

Thank you.

I used to drink a lot of wine and never really new the dynamics of making it. I knew that wine often comes from Grapes as Covisier comes from Pears and Sake comes from Rice. With all that said, Wines come from a Fermenting process that was first originated in Japan. The Climate is cold in my Homeland which makes Wine a difficult process to Master. I love Wine and am thinking of purchasing some land in Anza. I know it's not a pristine location but it will work as long as I put hard hours into this Venture. I will probably market some of my Wine locally or wherever I can sell it. Fallbrook and Anza are a gift from above!!!
