The sounds of Britney Spears’ "Circus" played as a plethora of colors flooded the red-and-white-striped curtain-draped stage. Under a single spotlight in the TCHS theater, 13 senior boys crossed the stage, each vying for the title of Mr. Titan.

The second annual Mr. Titan competition was held on March 14. Participants were judged in beachwear, formalwear and talent. Entrants had to be teacher-nominated, meet a minimum GPA and be involved in the school.

There were the usual talents – singing and dancing – and then there were the "unusual" talents. Matt Piercy entertained the audience with the proper way to enjoy a sub sandwich, while Matt Henry drew a caricature of his English teacher, Mrs. Nagy.

Tyler Leuschen performed a mime and ended his act by romantically presenting senior Kendyl Smith with flowers and a surprise invitation to the prom. (She said yes!)

The most poignant moment of the night was when Matt Heidenreich sang a song dedicated to his mother, who passed away two years ago.

When asked what he thought about being nominated, Jeff Kemp answered with a smile, "It’s great, just hanging out with friends and showing off your talents!"

At the night’s end, the title of Mr. Titan went to Trevor Heglund.

year. Students will choose the teacher by placing spare change in their designated jar during lunch.

The teacher with the most change collected will be "tortured" at the next pep rally. The money will be used to pay for the production costs of drama’s next performance.

Some of this year’s torture choices include eating chocolate-covered bugs, dressing as Marie Antoinette and eating cake, wearing all the bathroom passes from every class for an entire day and dressing as a mole while being walked on a leash.

Titan Cheer held its fourth annual Showcase of Champions on Wednesday, March 11. The successful event gave local cheer and dance teams the opportunity to share their favorite routines before an enthusiastic audience. Family, friends, and the community got to see the hard work and efforts the teams put in all year.

Earlier this week, students were busy taking the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam). Sophomores were required to take it, while freshmen took a practice test. Students must pass the math and English portions of the CAHSEE test before receiving a high school diploma.

For everyone who is a math fan: did you know March 14 was Pi Day? The date is a match for the mathematical value for pi, 3.14.

Those crazy boys! We hadn't laughed so hard in a long time.
Our whole family came to watch.
Don't miss it next year.
