Sunday, June 28th, 2009. Issue 26, Volume 9. RUBIDOUX - A man suspected of stealing an SUV in Rubidoux with a 7- year-old boy inside remained behind bars today, and the boy was unharmed, a sheriff's sergeant said. Paul Fernando Bojorquez, 21, of Moreno Valley, allegedly stole the Dodge Durango about 6:55 a.m. from the parking lot of a AM/PM market at Rubidoux Boulevard and 30th Street, Sgt. Christopher Sanford said. The keys had been left in the vehicle, he said. The child was dropped off unharmed at a freeway offramp at Rubidoux Boulevard and was reunited with his parents, Sanford said. A deputy later saw the SUV crash into a fence near Rubidoux Boulevard and 26th Street. Bojorquez ran away but was caught, he said. Bojorquez was booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and kidnapping at the Robert Presley jail in Riverside, he said. Bojorquez remained locked up this afternoon and his bail was $50,000, a jailer said.
