Manny Ramirez is back! Kind of…

It was a very exciting week in the world of baseball, especially in the area with our local minor league teams.

This past weekend I got a chance to get out and do some great filming at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore, courtesy of Manny Ramirez and the Inland Empire 66ers.

Manny’s first at-bat was very exciting, and he did what everyone came out to see him do: jack a 400-foot homerun over the left field wall!

Manny will be back with the Dodgers on Friday, July 3, playing in San Diego, but Matt and I are having a hard time with the fact that Manny didn’t serve his entire suspension, or did he?

I’m glad he’s back, but didn’t he just start his sentence? Matt, take it away…

All praise to Allah! Manny-wood is back!

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Manny Ramirez is finally able to rejoin his team following a five-game suspension.

Most of you are saying, it wasn’t five games, it was fifty! Was it me or did it seem like Manny nearly played 45 minor league games?

Normally I would not give a dog’s pooper about a player’s suspension, but on this occasion, I am making an exception, and here’s why.

If Major League Baseball and pterodactyl face Bud Selig levy a 50-game suspension, it should be a 50-game suspension.

It is not like Manny has been playing for an independent league team in preparation for his return to L.A.; he’s been playing for the Dodgers’ minor league affiliates, which are a part of Major League baseball (hence the word "affiliate").

What really bothers me about the whole situation is that Manny got caught. Although he is not the first person to take a women’s fertility drug – just ask Octomom, it is a common practice.

Note to Manny: you have more money than you know what to do with; be smarter than the test. As my Advertisement
college coach would say, "Figure it out."

Please do not get me wrong; I do not condone his actions of taking a banned substance to boost his sex drive (his version of the story, not mine), but I guess that is what happens when your body stops producing its own testosterone due to excessive use of synthetic testosterone (allegedly).

Kids, FYI: the juice is bad! Just ask Jose Canseco.

Canseco was exciting to watch, and so is Manny. I love watching Man-Ram, Manny-WOOD, Judge Dread-locks or whatever he’s called.

Under the rules of Major League Baseball, Manny’s suspension was 50 games, and he should have served all 50 but didn’t. The superstar was permitted, per league rules to go on a "rehab" assignment.

It’s not like Manny voluntarily stood up in front of his teammates and said, "My name is Manny and I am a cheater." He did it only after Dodgers owner Frank McCord called him out.

The man with dreads, over 500 homeruns and women’s fertility drugs is a show – a highly rated show, like "John & Kate Separate."

Most people are buying what Manny is selling and he knows it. That is why Manny recently said, "People love me everywhere I go," and he is right. Every game the 12-time All-Star played during his "rehab" assignment was sold out.

I think Major League Baseball sold out and it is a microcosm of its prehistoric commissioner, Bud Selig. Just turn the other cheek and everything will be just fine.

If you are given a 50-game suspension, it should be a 50-game suspension, not 40 and come on back. Manny’s "rehab" assignment should have started July 3, which would have completed his 50-game Major League suspension.

Note to Major League baseball: be more like NFL and make the players serve their full suspensions.

One thing is always for certain: Manny is Manny and he will hit with or without octuplets.
