Story Last Updated : Jul 4th.

There is not a fireworks display in Murrieta tonight on Saturday, July 4th. We incorrectly listed it earlier today. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

Families can enjoy Fireworks in Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, and Fallbrook.

Temecula will again sponsor the Star Spangled Fourth of July Parade in Old Town, starting on Old Town Front Street to Moreno Road. Something new this year will be former U.S. Border Patrol Agent Jose Compean, who shot a drug smuggler in Texas and was commuted by President Bush after being convicted for the action. Compean was invited to town by the MTRA (Murrieta Temecula Republican Assembly) and will be riding on their float.

Temecula’s fireworks show will start at 9 pm at Ronald Reagan Sports park, 30875 Rancho Vista Road, after a full day of "Fun in the Park" festivities including games, booths, and live music, starting at 2 pm.

The City of Temecula's website encourages families to "Grab your picnic blanket and chairs and join us at the park for a great 4th of July celebration. Food vendors, live music, fun zone for kids, and a Hot Dog Eating Contest and fireworks."http://www.cityoftemecula.org/Temecula/Residents/Parks_and_Facilities/RonaldReaganSportsPark.htm

The City of Lake Elsinore is sponsoring a Patriotic Boat Parade of Lights for the Fourth of July celebration. The Boat Parade will form in the water off the SEAPORT BOAT LAUNCH, located at 500 W. Lakeshore Drive. The Parade will get underway at sunset, approximately 8:15 pm. Spectators may view the Boat Parade Advertisement
from the City's Lakepoint Park, Elm Grove Beach and from the Public Fishing Beaches on Lakeshore Drive at Lowell Street, Davis Street and Townsend Street. The Parade route will cruise by most of Grand Avenue, so good viewing will be available at many commercial boat launch facilities and Perret Park. The City will not sponsor fireworks over the lake this year, however, Diamond Stadium is hosting a show after the Lake Elsinore Storm’s game against the Quakes. The game starts at 7:05 pm and fireworks immediately follow the game.http://www.lake-elsinore.org/index.aspx?page=18&recordid=395

Wildomar’s first birthday will be celebrated with fireworks at Elsinore High School, 21800 Canyon Drive, starting at 9 pm. Events throughout the day start at 5 pm with free children's activities including bounce houses, slides, crafts, and games. There will also be food, music and vendors. http://www.cityofwildomar.org/uploads/files/events/Birthday-Flyer-full-page.pdf

If you want a unique event that includes barbecue, beverages, and fun, attend the July 4th event being presented in Fallbrook by the Fallbrook Beautification Alliance at 1602 S. Mission Road, that includes a Rubber Raft Regata where teams of four compete on the facility's heart-shaped lake for a grand prize, a Rubber Ducky race called the 'Quack Up Cup," games and activities for children, and a spectacular fireworks show at the end. This event offers activities suitable for all ages. Live music will ensure a fun, patriotic celebration and all proceeds benefit beautification efforts in Fallbrook. I do believe that the events in Murrieta happened last Saturday, June 27th. I know because I went! There are no fireworks there tonight. Don't go - you will be disapointed. They never have fireworks on the 4th - always on their birthday - 6/27.

Temecula is free and always a good show. Wildomar will probably also be good and also free, as far as I know. Fallbrook is really good too, and at a beautiful venue but you have to pay to get in. Lake Elsinore is at the Diamond after the game, so hope that helps.
