Hemet man accused of shooting repo agent in custody

HEMET - A 45-year-old Hemet man who allegedly fire shots at a vehicle repossession agent is in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Antonio Duvall was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of assault with a firearm and negligent discharge of a firearm.

Duvall is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, according to sheriff's jail records.

Hemet police said they received several shots fired calls from Oakland Avenue at 10:40 a.m. Sunday.

[ Berry-Bell and Hall Mortuary ] from a man who said he was a repossession agent, said Lt. Mark Richards.

Investigators determined that the suspect approached the agent and fired a shotgun into the air, then pointed it at the agent and fired twice more, missing him, Richards said.

Police contacted the registered owner of the vehicle that was being repossessed and found a recently fired shotgun at the home, Richards said.

The victim identified the man and he was taken into custody, police said.

I repo'd and PPI'd for a tow company in Orange County years ago and we were required to announce our presence with the local police before we went to pick up a vehicle. I wonder if this agent did that too?

Still - a shotgun fired in the air and two more rounds (missed???) the repo guy was very fortunate - and this registered owner was a pretty bad shot.

Times are getting tougher financially and more vehicles are being repo'd and PPI'd, so I expect to see more of this in the future.

THIS GUY IS A HABITUAL OFFENDER.now he loses his car and goes to prison....
