RIVERSIDE - Riverside police today sought a blond man who abducted and sexually assaulted a girl leaving her school in the La Sierra area.

Detectives released a sketch of a scruffy-looking white man in his 20s or early 30s, with a prominent tattoo on his right forearm. His car was a faded red Toyota with tinted windows, police said.

The girl was on her way home Tuesday afternoon, following an after-school program in the La Sierra area, when she was approached by a man who forced her into his vehicle, according to Riverside police Sgt. Mark Rossi.

The man drove the girl somewhere, sexually assaulted her, then let her go, Rossi said.

The suspect was described as thin and unshaven, wearing a dark blue baseball cap.

His red vehicle was described as a 1980s four-door Toyota sedan, showing obvious signs of wear and tear, police said.

Anyone with more information was urged to call Riverside police at (951) 353-7126 or (951) 787-7911.

Sketch will be available here later this morning. Advertisement

This is exactly why we live on one income so that I am able to take my kids to school so that this can't happen to them. I know not all can do it but if you can downsize your home or do whatever it takes to make it happen so that your kids can be safe and not have to walk by themselves. This just seems to be happening more and more while kids are walking to/from school. I will keep this girl in my prayers.

You two are paranoid! Stranger abduction is very rare. Stranger abduction and rape is rarer. Stranger abduction and sexual homicide is the rarest. Children are most likely to be assaulted by people of trust. Concentrate more on that than living in constant fear that your children are going to get abducted on their way to school. Educate yourselves!

really? You should say that to Amber Dubois mother, I wonder if she would agree with you. I have spoken to her and I think she would feel differently. Paranoid, living in constant fear? No, just realistic. There is alot that goes on that doesn't make the news. Murrieta dad you seem like a real peach...

Again Amber Dubois is a rare occurrence. Of course her mother would think otherwise. Also I wouldn't discount Amber's acquaintances or family as suspects. Liz why don't you do some research because you are not being realistic as you are claiming. Here is a link for you www.missingkids.com. Now go and read for once instead of JUST reading the celebrated cases. You will learn something.
