Four Norco businesses cited for selling drug paraphernalia

Thursday, January 28th, 2010
Issue 04, Volume 14.

NORCO - Four Norco businesses were cited for allegedly selling drug paraphernalia -- including water and glass pipes, roach clips, scales and storage containers built for concealment -- in violation of a newly passed city ordinance, sheriff's officials said today.

The ordinance against selling items that are clearly used for drug transactions or use was passed in December and took effect last week, according to sheriff's Sgt. Justin Rowan.

The businesses in violation had been Advertisement

told of the ordinance and warned that compliance was expected, Rowan said.

He identified the businesses cited during the sweep last Friday, in which more than 500 paraphernalia items were seized, as:

-- Hidden Humidor, 1100 block of Hidden Valley Parkway;

-- Sign of The Times Tattoo, 2000 block of River Road;

-- USA Tobacco, 2700 block of Hamner Avenue; and

-- Tobacco Leaf, 3600 block of Hamner Avenue.

So evidently, four out of the billions of stores across the United States have been caught selling bongs and pieces? Wow, we have such a great police force. Come on! If you go down Venice Beach you'll see all sorts of drug paraphernalia there.
