Casinos out for blood

Friday, March 12th, 2010
Issue 10, Volume 14.

The San Diego Blood Bank presents the Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort with the inaugural trophy as the winner of the first Casino Challenge which was planned by leaders of the resort and other casinos.

The groups challenged each other to see who could collect the most blood for the bank in December and January. The four rival casinos collected 403 pints altogether.

Accepting the award on behalf of Harrah’s Rincon were the resort’s tribal chairman, Bo Mazzetti, and the vice president and assistant general manager Robert Livingston.

"This is a challenging time of year for donations to the blood bank, and it is heart-warming to think about the need that our industry is filling in the community," said Livingston.
