Issue 16, Volume 14.

Community Outreach Ministry of Wildomar recently took part in a Children’s Fair at McVicker Park in Lake Elsinore as part of "Week of the Young Child" observances.

The goal of the April 3 event was intended as a day of fun festivities and to provide resources aimed at informing, strengthening and enriching families.

The nonprofit group’s booth promoted children’s safety by offering personal identification kits and ‘Just Be Safe’ coloring books. The materials were donated by state Assemblyman Kevin Jefferies, R-Lakeland Village, and state Senator Dennis Hollingsworth, R-Murrieta.

Youngsters had their faces painted by Lake Elsinore High School students Harly Cartwright and Steven De Los Santos. The Lancer Dancers of Lakeside High School performed during the event. Easter gift baskets and other items were given away.

fill baskets.  She accomplished that task with the help of teachers and students from Elsinore High. Chick-Fil-A of Murrieta donated free meals and Dave Tenny of Brunswick Bowl donated bowling passes.

Community Outreach Ministry assists children of prisoners and other needy and at-risk youths through outreach efforts, summer camp, mentoring and holiday programs.  Summer Camps are held in June for youths in second through sixth grades and in July for students in junior high and high school.

Scholarships can be donated for $250 per student. Campers gain confidence and a "can-do spirit" from their work and studies. The camps goals are to challenge youth, help build their self-esteem and enable them to see themselves as champions.

Call (951) 698-7650 or visit www.communityoutreachministy.org for more information on the nonprofit group or the scholarship program.
