TEMECULA - Local 16-year-old, Lexi Lorah, will be featured in the upcoming Recycled Art & Fashion Show on April 21 at Monte de Oro Winery.

Admission to the event is free with complimentary appetizers; event time is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring local MSJC art students, local celebrity artists, and vendors of both corporate and handmade items.

Lexi is the winner of the "Project Style" competition, a fashion opportunity produced by The Promenade in Temecula.

She is currently a student at Temecula Valley High School, who is a self-proclaimed fashion enthusiast, for a love of many different styles ranging from 70s bohemian to 90s grunge.

In order to find unique pieces for the "vintage" styles, she also started shopping at thrift and consignment stores.

Lexi said, "When I first started shopping at thrift stores, it got me thinking, ‘Why doesn’t everyone shop at these places?’ So much clothing is wasted per year, and it is so much better for our environment to reuse and recycle clothes."

The Promenade in Temecula sponsors and produces "Project Style" every year from April to September. The competition showcases the fashion industry at The Promenade and also gives the opportunity for young designers to showcase designs, offering a creative outlet for their work.

Lexi now blogs for The Promenade where she discusses current trends and what items you can buy from the mall that correlate with the trend.

After high school, Lexi plans to pursue a career in fashion merchandising.

Lexi will be featured at the Recycled Art and Fashion Show wearing a recycled fashion piece that she will design with local designer and seamstress Manuel Sigala.
