TEMECULA – On Monday, April 23, South Coast Winery Resort & Spa Owner Jim Carter, Master Winemaker Jon McPherson and Winemaker Javier Flores accepted awards during a presentation ceremony after winning Gold and Silver awards at Mexico’s XIX Internacional/Tierra del Vino-Ensenada Competition.

The nation’s most award winning winery, South Coast Winery Owner Jim Carter, Master Winemaker Jon McPherson, Winemaker Javier Flores with XIX Internacional/Tierra del Vino-Ensenada Mexico Wine Competition representatives Ana Isabel Hernández Sánchez and Gricelda López who presented South Coast Winery with six Grand Gold, Gold and Silver Medals. South Coast Winery was also most recently the only American winery to win a Gold medal in the French Vinalies Internationales Wine Competition and won five awards and medals in Spain.

The XIX International Competition "Ensenada Wine Country" is an annual crème-de-la-creme global competition in Mexico and South America. Wineries in Temecula were also invited to compete. Wine-derived products were judged for their recognition based on their quality and evaluated by a specialized jury. The event encourages the expansion of wine culture among countries and relationships between wineries in the United States and abroad. South Coast winery won 6 Outstanding Awards.
