Authorities searching for sexual predator who assaulted female bicyclist in Murrieta

MURRIETA - (PRESS RELEASE) On Thursday, August 23, 2012, at approximately 11:20 PM, deputies from the Southwest Station responded to a reported assault in the area of Willows Avenue & Napa Creek Drive, in the unincorporated area of Murrieta. The victim, a female bicyclist, said she was traveling east on Willows Avenue from Sierra Madre when she heard someone running towards her. The victim was tackled from behind shortly after this. to free herself. The suspect fled the area southbound on Willows Avenue.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black or Hispanic male adult, early 20s, heavy-set with a muscular build, short dark hair, clean-shaven, wearing a purple-colored T-shirt. The suspect also may have an injury to the right side of his face. A composite of the suspect was made and is attached to the press release. This is an on-going investigation.
