Two Temecula residents sang the national anthem prior to the Oct. 6-7 performances of the Professional Bull Riders event in Pala.

Gwyn Sanborn sang the Star-Spangled Banner prior to the Oct. 6 competition and Jamie Brosius sang the national anthem as part of the Oct. 7 pre-riding festivities.

Sanborn also sings for the Ranch Rockers, who played at the Oct. 6 afterparty at Pala Casino’s Infinity nightclub.

Sanborn, who has lived in Temecula since 2002, joined the Ranch Rockers that year. She is now the most senior member of that band, which formed shortly before she joined. The Ranch Rockers normally play at "Country at the Merc" in Old Town Temecula on Saturday nights, and Pala Casino Spa and Resort chief executive officer Bill Bembenek has frequented that show.

The Ranch Rockers were recruited to play for the first PBR afterparty at Pala in 2010 and have been invited to return ever since. In 2010, the Ranch Rockers performed at the casino’s center bar, and in 2011 they played at the Infinity nightclub which opened two weeks earlier.

Brosius is a table worker and has worked at Pala Casino since 2001. She also sang the national anthem during one of last year’s PBR performances.
