HEMET - A San Jacinto man lost control of his sedan, was flung from the vehicle and then landed on the roadway, where he was struck by another vehicle and killed, the coroner's office reported today.

Paul Vavao, 23, died of his injuries at Hemet Valley Medical Center after the 9:09 p.m. incident Saturday.

He was apparently driving on westbound Domenigoni Parkway when his vehcile inexplicably left the roadway about 700 feet west of Searl Parkway, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

Coroner's officials report that Vavao's car veered up an embankment before he was ejected, only to land on the roadway. A sport utility vehicle then hit him.

My deepest and sincere condolences on the loss of your brother, Paul. No one should have to die young. He was a good guy and a nice kid. Always saying hello to me at the Roadhouse and seemed to enjoy his life.
Hold tightly to his memory and the good things you had while he was here.
My heart is with you all tonight!

My condolences to the family of Paul Vavao.

This appears to be another case of the victim not wearing a seat belt.

It is very unlikely that someone will be ejected from a vehicle while wearing a seat belt.

We all miss u lippie! Plenty of Jameson drank and even more tears shed. I hope the coward that killed him and ran lives in a lonely and dark place for life. Better hope friens and family don't find u first. You took and son, brother, uncle, dad to a new born and a friend from a lot of people.
He wasn't wearing a seatbelt no. But... regardless he deserved better than that

I searched this article as our family was on our way home Sat night when we passed emergency vehicles & a vehicle on the embankment. We prayed for the victims, fearing a loss of life! My heart is saddened for your loss, especially so young. I will continue to pray that the person(s) responsible are revealed & justice served! Thoughts & prayers for the family, so sorry for your loss.

To the Vavao Family you love so hard and strong. I am deeply sorry for the loss of Paul to your family. I can only judge by what I witness of Paul...Smiling Face, and affectionate loving amazing Uncle always ready for a hug and smile. Everybody says Paul is their brother I know but his brothers Kawika, Chris&Martin he loved you guys beyond that shone thru. He loved and respected his mom and dad Tom&Sheli I hope you all don't doubt that because we seen it. Lastly why are all the newspaper articles but only stating the SUV that struck Paul LEFT THE SCENE!!!! That seems to me to be a bit important reporters!

If the people that saw him laying in the street blocked traffic he would might of lived also amd the heartless person that hit him if he/she would of stopped and gave him much needed aid he might of lived also, this greiveing family doesnt need your heartless comments about him wearing a seatbelt, if it was your son, brother cousin friend, husband or father of your children Im sure u wouldnt say well he should have had a seatbelt on. Come on people. My fiance was killed in a car accident and the seatbelt trapped him in the car and broke his neck. Have a little compassion and keep your heartless comments to yourself. RIParadise Paul and I pray the person comes forward who hit u so ur family can get the questions answered they deserve. Xoxo
