Murrieta resident wins Rabobank pumpkin contest

MURRIETA – Life-long Murrieta resident and business banking customer Anne Borel received a gift certificate from Chris McCullough, Murrieta Branch Manager of Rabobank recently for guessing the weight of the pumpkin at exactly 110 lbs.

Borel’s family has lived in Murrieta since 1886 and she owns Joanies Cantina in Historic Downtown Murrieta. Borel says that the community hasn’t seen the last of this pumpkin and has come up with several ideas for schools to grow more giant pumpkins with the seeds and the city to grow pumpkins as a fundraiser for a park in the Historic Downtown area.

The Pumpkin Contest was open to all members of the community who could stop by the Murrieta Branch at 40723 Murrieta Hot Springs Road.
