Murrieta Woman Struck by Pickup, Seriously Injured

MURRIETA - A woman struck by a pickup truck as she crossed a Murrieta intersection remained hospitalized in serious condition today.

Alaina Cisneros, 26, of Murrieta suffered major injuries when she was hit on Jackson Avenue where it meets Robards Way around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to Murrieta police Sgt. Jay Froboese.

He said Cisneros was walking south along Jackson when a 17-year-old boy driving a "lifted" pickup -- mounted on oversize wheels -- turned west onto Robards from northbound Jackson, Advertisement

plowing into the pedestrian as she tried to cross in front of him.

"The juvenile stated he ... did not see the female pedestrian walking south along Jackson," Froboese said.

Arriving officers found the woman unconscious in the street, suffering from serious head trauma. She was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where she underwent surgery and remains in intensive care.

The juvenile driver was not injured. According to Froboese, several people witnessed the crash, and the investigation is active.

Lainey was a great person she was outgoing and loved to laugh she will be missed terribly.she was a great Co worker everybody loved her. Lainey we love u you will always be remembered. Thanx for always making me laugh.

I'll miss you Lainey. You were always laughing and could brighten up any room. I never had a chance to say goodbye. You made this world a better place and there are many that are thankful for that. There's so much I wanna say...

I'm sure you're up in Heaven right now. Save me a place up there. I'll see you.
