An occupant was trapped in one of the mangled vehicles that crashed shortly before midnight Saturday at Nuevo Road and Perris Boulevard. Firefighters used a hydraulic power tool to pry open the wrecked car and free the occupant, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
