TEMECULA - Monster Energy Drink and Fox Racing are two major sponsors teaming up with professional motocross athletes to support a charity golf tournament to benefit local children with autism on Monday, Dec. 10, at Legends Golf Club.

"This event will help our organization provide children in the community who have autism an opportunity to get on a dirt bike or quad and enjoy the riding experience at our day camps," said Mathew Dalton, founder of The Autism MX Project. "We invite golfers of all levels to take part in the holiday spirit by supporting the tournament and our charity."

The event name is "Tee Off for Trevor." Trevor is the four-year-old son of event co-organizer Rebecca Woodcock. Trevor, who has been diagnosed with autism, frequently attends Autism MX day camps where he feels good and calmed by the riding activities. Trevorís dad, a golf and motocross enthusiast, came up with the idea to blend the two hobbies to raise money for the day camps. Several other mothers have stepped in to help Rebecca Woodcock and Autism MX put on the golf tournament.

The golf tournament features many prominent professional motocross athletes, including motocross racers Broc Tickle, Nathan Ramsey and Kyle Lewis, as well as freestyle motocross athletes Matt Buyten, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Robbie Maddison and Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg.

Tournament play will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Registration is $125 per person or $400 per foursome.

Course tee or hole sponsorships are still available for $250, as well as silent auction and raffle product donations. Please inquire through email at to register or to contact for sponsorship. Proceeds will help fund local day camps for children with autism through The Autism MX Project.

Tournament prizes will be awarded for first and second place, longest drive and closest-to-the-pin, including a $10,000 hole-in-one grand prize.

Other event sponsors include GoPro, Paradise Chevrolet, Quaid Harley-Davidson, Temecula Motorsports, Ponte Winery and Autism Cares.

The Autism MX Project is a nonprofit organization in Southern California that focuses on helping children with autism experience motocross. The organization hosts several day camps each year at local racetracks to provide a comfortable atmosphere and controlled environment for children to ride dirt bikes and quads. It also sponsors more than 40 local amateur and professional motocross racers each year to fulfill its mission of raising autism awareness within the motocross community.
