The Temecula Rotary Club (sponsor) and a crew of about 250 very generous volunteers offered a complete Christmas dinner at the Temecula Community Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas day free to anyone who wanted to enjoy.

Organizer Buck Kemmis (known around Temecula for his work in founding "The Great Temecula Tractor Race") said that over 500 calls came in for volunteers but only about 250 were needed so the rest were invited to join in as guests. Meals were served on-site to anyone Advertisement

who came in the door, and drivers delivered more meals to assisted living facilities, home bound local residents, fire stations, police stations and on-call responders with enthusiasm.

Anheuser Busch has loaned a refrigerated truck from their Riverside warehouse to this cause for the past 15 years. Kemmis says they are just one of many who help out for the big day.

Hundreds of toys were purchased with the help of donations and Santa Claus was a big hit giving gifts to children and posing for pictures with them.
