A sheriff's sergeant attempted to stop a suspected stolen vehicle around 10:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, near 37th Street and Crestmore Road in the Rubidoux section of Jurupa Valley, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Samuel Flores. Deputies pulled Jones over as Evans continued to flee, eventually heading into Riverside, Flores said. "Evans abandoned the stolen vehicle near the 3800 block of Locust Avenue and fled on foot," he said, adding that he was apprehended a short time later, he Advertisement Evans, who was on felony probation, was found to have several outstanding felony arrest warrants, Flores said. Investigators found several items reported stolen in Jurupa Valley and Riverside in both the stolen vehicle and the one driven by Jones, he said. "The investigation also led deputies to the recovery of an additional stolen vehicle in the Jurupa Valley area," he said. Evans and Jones were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside. Jones was being held in lieu of 25,000 bail and Evans in lieu of $50,000.
