There are really two gauges we use to determine value. The first gauge is how much someone is willing to pay and the second is who owned it before. Time and time again we use these two filters to gauge the value of an object.

My garage sales are notorious for proving this to be true. No one ever wants to pay top dollar for any of my garage sale garbage, no matter how neatly I stack them in my driveway. In my case, the cliché saying of "Someone else’s trash is someone else’s treasure" is rarely true.

Did you know that God is willing to pay top dollar for you? Listen to this: "God paid a high price for you…" (1 Corinthians 7:23) That’s right a high price! Do you know why? Because you are valuable to God! In fact to Him you hold such a high value He paid the highest price anyone has ever paid. He bought you with the life of His dear son, Jesus Christ.

So just in case it’s not clear to you yet, God loves you so much He paid the highest price possible, the life of His son Jesus Christ simply because you are valuable to Him. You matter and don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise.
