It happened about 8:40 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway, near the offramp to Martin Luther King Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers said the fertilizer product ended up in the car pool lane and fast-lane of the four-lane route, impacting the entire corridor during morning rush hour. A SigAlert was issued at 9:20 a.m. and expected to be lifted before noon. No injuries were reported.
