This happened just 30 minutes after I drove past that very point on my way home. I really am curious to know just what happened. :( I pray the SUV was not speeding. I am so sorry for the loss of the person and his family.
I turned left onto Winchester a minute after it happened. The traffic coming southbound had not yet gotten a green light to come through the intersection. There was only the suv and one other car pulled over at that time. I think the suv might have turned right onto Winchester and struck him becasue unfortunately the first thing I saw was a tennis shoe in the road near the right/slow lane and the poor man was all the way by the center median. I feel awful for his family and friends. God bless them all.
I saw the crew examining the young man at around 11 pm. I knew that there was an accident earlier because I heard the sirens at about 7 pm then my wife called and said she was stuck in the traffic from the accident. I didnt know that he was passed at first but then realized that he was part of the accident earlier. 24 yrs old is way too young to go. This is such a tragedy. I wish his family peace and love at this time of loss. I pray that he has found the light and is at peace himself as well.
The man who hit him had pulled out of French Valley Airport. Allegedly, the vehicle in front of him swerved and he did not see anyone in the road and hit the young man. I can't tell you if he was speeding or not, just that he didn't know he hit him until he heard the sound. |
