TEMECULA - A fire was reported at Temecula Valley High School at 10:03 a.m. this morning and was contained at 10:33 a.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman, Jody Hagemann.

Officials are reporting that the fire was on the roof of the auto shop building at the campus which is on Rancho Vista Road. Temecula Valley Unified School District spokeswoman Melanie Norton confirmed that the fire prompted a school wide evacuation and no injuries were reported.

At 11:50 a.m., Norton confirmed students and staff had returned to campus and that fire crews did in fact deem it safe to return to classrooms.

According to Deputy Albert Martinez, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was called to assist with traffic control at the scene, and at this point in time the cause of the blaze is under investigation by fire officials.
