Khalil Sharpe and his Murrieta Mesa (14-9, 4-2) teammates surprised league-leader Chaparral (14-9, 3-3) on the road last Friday night, Jan. 25, with a dominant 66-49 win. Sharpe finished with 20 points shooting 70 percent from the floor and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe. He also had five assists, five steals and an assist.

Teammates Shondell Smith (16 points) and Trevon Session (13 points) also contributed six more boards.

The Rams are tied for first place in the league with Great Oak and next face defending Southwestern League Champion Murrieta Valley (15-7, 3-3) who lost 53-51 to Great Oak (13-8, 4-2) last Friday.
