The occupant of a mobile home that erupted in flames today was discovered dead in the residence, authorities said.

The blaze was reported just before 7 a.m. at a double-wide trailer in the 58700 block of Yaw Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire raging at the property, according to a fire department spokeswoman. She said six engine crews, numbering 21 personnel, gained the upper hand and had the blaze fully contained by 8:20 a.m.

During a search of the structure, a single occupant was found dead. Identification was not immediately possible, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
