Issue 06, Volume 17.

LAKE ELSINORE - Concerns were growing today about the welfare of a man with Alzheimer's disease, who wandered away from his Lake Elsinore home and hasn't been seen since.

Craig Steneart, 63, left his residence in the 29000 block of Maes Avenue, less than a mile from the lake, on foot around 5:20 p.m. Thursday without saying where he was going, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Steneart suffers memory lapses that can lead to "extreme confusion," and family members are worried that he became disoriented and lost, according Advertisement

to Sgt. Marc Cloutier.

He said the man's loved ones searched through the night trying to locate him, without success.

The sheriff's department initiated an air and ground search today, but turned up no clues as to Steneart's whereabouts, according to Cloutier.

Steneart is white, about 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, with blue eyes and medium-length brown hair with gray streaks. He was last seen wearing a blue denim jacket, red shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information was asked to call the sheriff's Lake Elsinore station at (951) 245-3300.

Get one of those bracelets for him that keeps track of these people that have Alzheimer's disease. My sister has it and that is what they did to keep track of her. I think U may have to see his doctor for more details.

He is a very sweet man with a wonderful family. I hope he is found safe and unharmed soon.
