LAKE ELSINORE - Flames scorched a Lake Elsinore restaurant but no one was hurt, a spokeswoman said today.

Firefighters rushed to Annie's Cafe in the 32200 block of Mission Trail following a 911 call at 10:29 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation, but Hagemann said firefighters contained it to the kitchen and exterior of the eatery within 30 minutes.

The severity of the restaurant fire prompted firefighters to call for a second alarm. An estimate of the damage has not been given yet.
