MURRIETA - Jury deliberations will resume today in the trial of a convicted felon and his two alleged accomplices, who are accused of breaking into his uncle's Temecula home and shooting him to death in his bed.

Kyle Christopher Miller, 29, Ian Edward Inserra, 38, and Patty Ann Lamoureux, 47, could each face life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted in the July 6, 2011, slaying of 53-year-old Bradley Capen.

Testimony in the case concluded last week, and jury deliberations got under way Monday.

All three defendants are being held without bail at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

According to the prosecution, Miller had been at odds with his uncle over the victim's property being stolen and other activities connected with the younger man's drug use.

Capen eventually locked his nephew out of his house in the 44900 block of Los Caballos Road.

Sheriff's investigators say Miller and Inserra drove to the victim's house armed with a sawed-off shotgun on the night of the attack. Miller forced his way into the residence and stormed into his uncle's Advertisement

[ Murrieta Volkswagen ] bedroom, demanding prescription medication and cash, they said.

Capen apparently refused, and Miller shot him in the head, prosecutors allege.

Two relatives were in a separate room down the hall and allegedly heard the commotion. The witnesses told authorities they saw Miller leave the room. He told one of them to forget that he saw him on the property and dashed out, according to the prosecution.

The defendant and Inserra drove back to Lamoureux's residence and told her to hide the shotgun, which she did, prosecutors allege.

All three were arrested within a week.

Miller is charged with first-degree murder and a special circumstance allegation of killing in the course of a robbery, as well as one count each of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Inserra and Lamoureux are each charged with murder and a special circumstance allegation of killing during a robbery, as well as conspiracy.

Miller was convicted in 2001 of making criminal threats and has had multiple brushes with the law since that time, according to court records.
