TEMECULA – Assistance League of the Temecula Valley (ALTV) presented Cassandra Henson, Assistant Manager for Kohl’s in Murrieta, with the National Operation School Bell® Award. This award is presented to honor those in the community who, through significant service support have had a direct, powerful and positive effect on Operation School Bell.

In the past four years Cassandra has been responsible for her store donating more than $10,000 to Operation School Bell. ALTV feels that Cassandra’s cheerful attitude and wonderful work ethic makes her a leader at her store and an important friend to their chapter. She is someone ALTV can call on any time as she is always willing to help.

Operation School Bell provides new back to school clothing for under-privileged children in the area. In the 2012/2013 school year, ALTV’s Operation School Bell program alone clothed 1,731 students. Since September of 2011, each fall children in the four area school districts attend "shopping events" for the clothes they want and Advertisement

need at three area Kohl’s stores and the Lake Elsinore Target.

This began when ALTV decided to dress students off site and Cassandra volunteered to have her store hold a practice dressing in January of 2011. This was successful and ALTV made the decision to take its Operation School Bell program off site completely. Cassandra was instrumental in all three Kohl’s participation. She originally contacted all the area Kohl’s stores needed for the program and encouraged them to participate. Cassandra is always present at the Murrieta store making sure that the events run smoothly.

The ALTV would like to say thank you to Cassandra, for her support and dedication to Operation School Bell.

ALTV is a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization serving the families of Southwest Riverside County since 1989.
