Ex-Firefighter Gets 16 Years for Raping Fiancee, Molesting Step Child

Issue 10, Volume 17.

MURRIETA - An ex-firefighter who sexually assaulted his fiancee while she was drugged and molested one of his ex-wife's two young children was sentenced today to 16 years in prison.

William Robert Bolduc, 57, was convicted Sept. 6 of rape of a victim under the influence of a controlled substance, sodomy, lewd acts on a child and three counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object.

Riverside County Superior Court Judge Kelly Hansen imposed a mid-term sentence for the rape count -- for which Bolduc could have received eight years, but got six -- and lower term sentences for the remaining counts.

The defendant was tried on seven felonies and a misdemeanor, plus sentence-enhancing allegations of victimizing multiple people in the same crime. However, a Murrieta jury acquitted him of two counts and did not find any of the enhancements true.

An investigation into the case began in December 2009 when Bolduc's then- fiancee alleged he had sexually assaulted her while she was under the influence of anesthesia from oral surgery.

The assault occurred after Bolduc took her back to her Murrieta home. The woman had been heavily sedated for the procedure and was barely conscious for several hours, according to court papers.

The victim told investigators she recalled Advertisement

hearing a camera phone clicking and being vaguely aware that her clothes were being removed and replaced. She alleged that after awakening, she had pain associated with sexual activity.

Several days later, the woman took Bolduc's mobile phone to an electronics shop and had two dozen recently erased images restored. Investigators said the pictures showed the woman on her stomach, nude, and the defendant violating her.

In 2011, Bolduc's former stepson and stepdaughter -- whose identities were not released -- told family members that he had molested them when they all lived under the same roof in Quail Valley, near Perris, in 2004 and 2005, according to the prosecution.

The girl was around 3 or 4 years old at the time, and her brother was 5 or 6.

The boy alleged Bolduc fondled him while applying lotion, while his sister claimed the defendant groped her and forced her to touch him intimately. The lewd acts count on which he was convicted related to the girl.

The children's mother, Laura Bolduc, initiated divorce proceedings in 2006 after the defendant allegedly became "physically and sexually abusive," Deputy District Attorney Sean Crandell told City News Service.

Bolduc retired from the Chula Vista Fire Department in 2010 after 18 years on the job.

Wow! This guy has NO moral compass. Maybe he'll be on the receiving end of unwanted sexual advances after he arrives in prison.
