Temecula Valley Museum announces walking tour of historic Old Town

TEMECULA – Start off your weekend with a fun and unique experience for friends and family alike. Participate in a historical docent guided tour of Old Town Temecula and feel the early 1900s come to life.

Temecula has a long, colorful and interesting history, despite the fact that the city did not have a traffic light until the mid-1980s. Hear colorful stories and events from the past including the fact that Temecula business owner Joe Winkels entertained legends Jack Dempsey, Jack Sharkey and Fatty Arbuckle at the Advertisement

Learn about Temecula’s first bank and its daring bank robbery and who Temecula’s most famous author was. See the city’s oldest landmarks and hear about the most intriguing local characters.

The tour departs from the Temecula Valley Museum at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 with docent Dale Garcia. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a $2 fee. To R.S.V.P. or for more information call (951) 694-6450.
