Driver, Passenger Rescued After Plowing into Tree

MENIFEE - Two people were injured today when a driver lost control and crashed into a tree in Menifee.

The accident happened around 4:20 p.m. at Menifee Road and Mountain Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Details about the crash were not immediately known.

Three engine crews and a truck company, numbering around 15 firefighters, arrived to find a vehicle with two occupants stuck in the wreckage, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The victims, whose names were not released, were safely freed and taken to a hospital around 4:45 p.m. with moderate injuries.
