Local cadets graduate from training

RIVERSIDE COUNTY – The following cadets have graduated from military training in their respective bases. Army cadets have trained for nine weeks where soldiers studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Air Force cadets completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Army

Army Pvt. Dennis M. Edginton has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Edginton is the son of Fred Garcia of Little Reb Place, Menifee. He is a 2007 graduate of Perris Lake High School.

Army Pfc. Dejon A. Stewart has arrived for duty to the 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. The 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade belongs to the 2nd Infantry Division which is the only permanently forward deployed unit in the Army.

Stewart is the son of Latrice and Lorenzo Ishmon Stewart of Floricita Street, Murrieta. He graduated in 2010 from Chaparral High School, Murrieta.

Army Pvt. Rebekah A. Roe has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Roe is the daughter of Thomas Roe of Gabriel Metsu Street, Winchester, Calif., and Jennifer Hughes of Tinker Street, Buzzards Bay, Mass. She is a 2011 graduate of Vista Murrieta High School, Calif.

Air Force

Air Force Airman Andy P. Tapia graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Tapia is the son of Marty Essex of Lincoln Avenue, Murrieta, and Paul Tapia of San Gorgonio Road, Rancho Mirage. He is a 2010 graduate of Murrieta Valley High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Giovanni V. Marone graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Marone is the son of Rodita and Victor Marone of North Nebraska Street, Lake Elsinore. He is a 2008 graduate of Lakeside High School, Lake Elsinore.

Air Force Airman Michael Madrigal graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Madrigal is the son of Michele Madrigal of Telegraph Canyon Road, Chula Vista. He is a 2007 graduate of Rancho Santa Rosa High School, Temecula.
