Police identify 27-year-old woman killed in three-vehicle crash in Temecula

TEMECULA - Authorities today identified a 27-year-old woman killed in a three-vehicle crash in Temecula. Sharina Thomason was driving a car that was struck by a pickup truck about 2:45 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Rancho California Road and Town Center, according to Riverside County coroner's officials. The Temecula resident was taken to Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, where she was pronounced dead at 3:25 p.m. The pickup truck's driver, 63-year-old Travis Hughes Braswell of Menifee, allegedly ran a red light as he drove west on Rancho California Road and Advertisement

then struck Thomason's Pontiac sedan, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Dean Spivacke said. The pickup then careened into a Saturn, which was driven by a 38-year- old Corona woman who was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, Spivacke said. Braswell was treated for minor injuries from the crash, then was booked at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run. He posted a $75,000 bond and was expected to be arraigned on July 3 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, according to jail records.
