Brush fire in Winchester contained at 7 acres

WINCHESTER - A seven-acre brush fire destroyed several outbuildings and damaged a residence in Winchester today, but there were no reports of any injuries.

The blaze was reported at 1:15 p.m. in the 28300 block of Patterson Avenue, and 70 firefighters were sent to the scene, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said. No evacuations were ordered.

The outbuildings included sheds, and the residence sustained about $10,000 in damage, Hendrickson said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

The fire was approximately 75 percent contained at 3:10 p.m. according to fire officials.

Several outbuildings have been destroyed and one dwelling sustained approximately $10,000 external damage. Resources will be on scene for approximately four hours. No injuries have been reported.

WINCHESTER - A five-acre brush fire burned five outbuildings in Winchester today, but there were no reports of any injuries. The blaze was reported at 1:15 p.m. in the 28300 block of Patterson Avenue, and 70 firefighters were sent to the scene, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said. The fire was 50 percent contained by 2:30 p.m., she said. No injuries or evacuations were reported, and the cause was under investigation.
