ACES Co-Ed 18 advances to nationals

TEMECULA – The Linfield ACES Co-Ed 18 Advanced team won the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Southern California Sectional Championships held at the Claremont Club on Sunday, Aug. 25. 

The ACES team was behind by two points going into final round and proceeded to outscore their opponent the SoCal Assassins from Temple City 44-26 to claim the championship.

The ACES team will now be the Southern California representative at the USTA Junior Team Tennis National Championships Oct. 25-27 in Colombia, South Carolina.

This is the first time a team from Temecula Valley will compete for the national championship.

The Linfield ACES were also the SoCal Champions in both Boy’s & Girl’s 18 Advanced Divisions and played for the Gar Glenney Cup at Stanford University on Aug. 17-18.

Team members include Hayden Hensley, Josh Robbins, Christian Francisco, Jonathon Rodriguez, Kyle Le, Zach Arellano, Nikhil Nagpal, Spencer Sherman, Caroline Hall, Emma Arenas, Lindsey Gelinas, Nicole Arribere, Therese Recidoro and Leah Helman.

The team will be fundraising for this trip and donations are welcome.
