Riverside man arrested for attempted murder

TEMECULA - SHERIFF PRESS RELEASE - On 09/14/13, about 4:20 A.M., officers from the Temecula Police Department investigated a reported shooting in the area of Sunflower Drive and Pepper Ridge Court in Temecula. They located a male victim who was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound. The victim was hospitalized, but he recovered from his injuries and has been released.

Temecula Police Investigators responded to assist with this investigation and in the following days they were able to identify the suspect as Deric Torrez Martinez, age 31, of Riverside. Investigators sought an arrest warrant for Martinez and distributed wanted information to the other law enforcement agencies Advertisement

in the region. On 10/04/13, about 11:00 P.M., Menifee Police Officers located Martinez at an undisclosed residence in Menifee. Martinez was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta for attempted murder.

Additional charges are anticipated by both the Menifee Police and the Riverside County Sheriff Department regarding narcotics found in Martinez’s possession when he was arrested in Menifee, and upon his person when booked into the Southwest Detention Center.

OK, I'll look at myself - nope, not a druggie, not an attempted murderer - choices Dawn, all about choices - drugs bring evil into the mind, in the moment. Gotta get clean or prison or dead will be his fate. Gotta find God, people laugh at that...but that's who saved my son, clean now for a year and half.
