The Perris Panthers amassed 375 total yards but were unable to match up with the Elsinore Tigers and lost 49-14. Elsinore won the Top Dog trophy commemorating Riverside County’s oldest rivalry, dating back to 1927.

Panthers’ QB Carlevon Manuel completed 17-of-32 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns. Aaron Berry caught seven of those passes for 89 yards and both scores. Elroyl Josh Smith led the rushing attack with ten carries for 67 yards.

Defensively, Aaron Berry (14) and Ahmad Jackson (13) led the Panthers in tackles.

While the Panthers gained their yardage in the air, the Elsinore Tigers rolled up 374 yards on the ground. Jacob Guglielmana carried the football 18 times for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Davis Peralta rushed 16 times for 87 yards. Mitchell Patten had two carries for 27 yards and two scores.

Patten also caught one pass for five yards and another score. QB Tommy Wilson completed 4-of-8 attempts for 95 yards. Ryan Laverdiere caught two passes for 76 and two touchdowns.

Linebacker Mohammed Alsadek who had twelve tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery led the Tigers’ defense. Chris Harris intercepted Manuel twice. The defense also had ten pass defenses.

The victory sets the stage for Elsinore (5-4, 3-1) to battle Heritage (8-1, 4-0) at home for a share of the league championship. Perris (0-9, 0-4) will be looking for their first win as they host Temescal Canyon (3-6, 1-3).
