The Huskies' offense is ready for the Broncos. Centennial could not be stopped last Friday night as the Huskies broke the National High School football record for most yards in a game with 946 yards. This record is even more remarkable in that it was set in the semifinal game of the CIF SS Inland Division Football playoffs. And they did it against Upland, a perennial football powerhouse.

The previous record was set last year by St. Stanislaus from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The 0-9 Rock-Chaws ran up 937 total yards in an 82-80 loss to the 4-7 Hornets from Poplarville. The previous record for a California school was 917 yards, set in 1967 by Happy Camp.

Itís the second time this season that Centennial has broken its school record for yards in a game. St. Bonaventure was the victim earlier this season as the Huskies piled up 886 yards in Septemberís 69-55 win over the Seraphs.

Senior quarterback Robert Webber leads the Huskies offense. He has thrown for 3282 yards and 32 touchdowns this season. He has also run for an additional 600 yards and eight TDs. He has a foursome of talented receivers that can change the momentum of any game in any situation.

Senior Barry Ware has 40 catches for 1030 yards and 13 TDs. Junior Greyson Bankhead caught 57 passes for 770 yards and scored nine times. Eric Locklin has 29 receptions for 657 yards and has hauled in six TD passes. Sophomore Javon McKinley has 26 catches with 514 yards and five scores.

The Huskies ran for 711 yards against the Highlanders last week. Upland could not stop the Centennial running attack in their 86-56 playoff loss. Senior running back Tre Watson moves the chains on the ground for the Huskies. He set an Inland Division record Friday night as he ran for 519 yards on 40 carries. That eclipsed the old record of 507 yards held by Valley Viewís David Dotsonís effort in 1991 in a game against Lake Arrowhead Rim of the World. .

Watson scored six of his 46 touchdowns of the season against Upland. Watson has rushed for 3,194 yards this season. He has passed Mike Bassí 2,875 yard effort in the 2000 season and is the schoolís new single-season rushing leader. He is fifth in the Inland Division record book.

The one bright spot for the Vista Murrieta Broncos is that the Centennial defense gave up a lot of points in last weekís game. Upland scored 56 points against the Huskies in the loss. Itís going to be a very interesting night as Vista Murrieta and Centennial get ready to face each other for the fourth consecutive time in the Championship game.

Game time is 7pm in at Centennial in Corona.
