Four Local Teams Competing in the Big Daddy Tournament

The Murrieta Valley Nighthawks cruised to their season opening victory 72-25 over Patriot HS from Jurupa Valley. Kevin Padlo led the Nighthawks’ charge with 14 points. Jacob Forte added 13 points and Tyler Bilton scored 10 for MVHS.

Murrieta Valley plays Riverside Arlington tonight.

Murrieta Mesa defeated Linfield Christian 67- 39. Bryan Phan led the Ram attack with 24 points. Davan Sanders scored 13 in the win for Murrieta Mesa. Jack Dickson scored 11 points for the Lions in the losing effort.

Linfield Christian plays Ramona while Murrieta Mesa faces Rancho Verde this evening.

Vista Murrieta rolled over Moreno Valley 82-39 on Tuesday. Cameron Eakins’ 21 points and Spencer Benson’s 20 points paced the Bronco offense. Austin Beech also scored 11 for the Broncos. Eakins hauled in 12 rebounds for Vista Murrieta.

In round two action, the Broncos beat Poly of Riverside 49-43. There were five lead changes and four ties. Austin Beech shot 50% from the floor and 75% from the free throw line to lead all scorers with 19; Jacob Perry was perfect from the free throw line (6/6) and added 16 points; Spencer Benson had an off shooting night and still ended up with ten.

Corona 81, Perris Citrus Hill 28.

Note: Temecula Valley won their first game 66-62 against Mission Viejo in the Mission Viejo Boys Tournament.
