Temecula United Boys U10 win league championship title

TEMECULA – After 12 games, with only one loss, Temecula Unitedís U10 boys finished strong Saturday, Nov. 24 with a win against FC Sol Black in a 3-1 victory. In their second year now, the boys have played 24 league games and have lost only three – scoring 93 goals and giving up 27.

Last year, the boys came up short and lost only to Oceanside Breakers, twice, who went on to win the league. This year the Temecula United team moved up a division to increase their competition level and had a top four finish targeted. With a lot of hard work, perseverance, and a great support network from the parents, they were able to grind through the season and come up big when it counted.

Next year the boys are projected to move into the San Diego Developmental Academy (SDDA) Flight 2 as they continue to make their way to Flight 1 status.

The team is scheduled to play in the LA Cup located at Stub Hub Stadium later this year and will bring the team to their first out of state experience in Nevada come January. The out of state experience is meant to enhance the boysí ability to play on the road and out of their comfort zone, along with it being a pre-tryout morale builder for returning players.

"There is no doubt this team has something special. The trick will be to find continued success as we increase our competition level and to retain the players and families year after year. This team is not about one or two players but the collective effort of all players on the pitch and why we are tough to play against, because we are strong throughout every position and have depth in the squad. Next year will be exciting as we look to add a couple fresh faces as we expand into the 11v11 format, which we are all very excited about," said Coach Matt Sayers.
